Wailua Falls is a beautiful waterfall that is easily accessible, but the trade-off is that it’s a popular tourist attraction. Nonetheless, we visited the area to take a look for ourselves. I had seen images of the falls before, so I had a couple ideas that I thought about trying. When I got to the falls, however, I wasn’t inspired, because there’s really only a single vantage point to photograph from as a result of a wall and cliff, which makes many photos look the same. So I scanned the entire scene and what caught my eye was some low-hanging clouds or fog set against the backdrop of the jungle. It must have been a funny scene to see several other photographers all pointed at the waterfall yet I was facing in the opposite direction.
