Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Large format 4×5 in Africa? You betcha!
.
It was ten years ago this year that I had the opportunity and pleasure to go on safari with Andy Biggs, @theglobalphotographer. Although a bit unorthodox, I brought my 4×5 camera, yet I was realistic about how much use I’d get out of it while primarily shooting wildlife from vehicles. So I told myself that all I wanted was one stellar image to take home with me and then it’d be worth the extra 20 pounds of gear. With this image of an Acacia tree in the Serengeti, which was taken on the very last day of the trip, I feel I met my goal and couldn’t be happier.
.
This image was shot with a Toyo 4×5 view camera on Fuji Provia.
